At Yangebup Primary, students from Year 1 - 6 learn Japanese. This includes not only communicating and understanding the language, but also gaining an understanding of the Japanese culture. Our lessons involve interactive activities such as calligraphy, origami, games and songs.

The Japanese teacher has lived in Japan 6 ½ years and has an intimate knowledge of the language and culture of Japan.

Japan is a major trading partner with Australia, and we believe that being proficient in this language is advantageous to future employment. 

In 2025, we have a dedicated Japanese language room with furniture to reflect Japanese culture.
